Best Quality Art Company is part of my senior thesis exhibition for NEXT at the Corcoran 2013.
This project is a tribute to the mid-century vendors who hawked their wares on comic book pages and bubble gum wrappers. Shown here are a carton of complimentary "novelty erasers" which viewers are encouraged to take, and a sample of the Deluxe Membership Kit being offered for sale. Included in the kit is a book on the work of Chris Ware – one of the most celebrated artists working in the comics medium today. His work is known for his artful use of design techniques more frequently associated with graphic design. You are encouraged to purchase a kit, though it should be noted that the ad’s effusive promises are purely to separate you from your money and no actual guarantees for your stardom can be made.
